2G Energy AG has once again secured new orders exceeding EUR 400 million in the third quarter, with the data center business continuing as a massive growth driver. The company also reported significant gains across nearly all segments and regions, prompting the Management Board to raise its revenue forecast for 2027 to EUR 600 to 650 million, up from the previous EUR 570 to 620 million. For the first time, the board has issued guidance for 2028, estimating revenue between EUR 750 and 850 million. The announcement, made via NEWMEDIAWIRE, underscores 2G's accelerating momentum in the decentralized energy market.
The order surge was led by a major contract from a data center customer for the delivery of containerized power plants totaling 275 MW, which alone exceeds 2G's total production for fiscal year 2025. As is customary for large-scale orders, 2G only reports new orders once the contract is signed and a down payment—typically 20% to 30% of the order value—has been received. In this case, the customer made a substantial mid-double-digit million down payment, part of which was used to secure the supply chain. Additionally, a previously announced major order from the mining sector was finalized in July. The heat pumps business unit is also meeting high expectations, with order intake of up to EUR 30 million still anticipated for the full year 2026.
The exceptionally positive trend in new orders is expected to continue in the coming quarters. Production ramp-up for existing data center orders has started very positively. With revenue of EUR 490 million still expected for the current year, the raised 2027 forecast implies year-over-year growth of 22.5% to 33%. The Management Board also expects to increase the EBIT margin to over 11% starting in 2027. For 2028, the board forecasts above-average growth of at least EUR 100 million, potentially up to EUR 250 million. The new assembly hall at the Heek site, set to commence operations at the end of 2027, along with gradual workforce expansion, will support achieving the upper end of the 2028 revenue forecast.
2G closed the first half of 2026 with total output of EUR 184.0 million, down 4.7% from EUR 193.0 million in the prior year, and an EBIT margin of 0.6% compared to 3.3%. The decline was largely due to an exceptionally high number of short-notice orders for Ukraine in early 2025. Revenue from new plants fell to EUR 52.7 million from EUR 82.7 million, while service revenue normalized to EUR 83.5 million, only 4.3% below the prior year. The cost of materials ratio improved to 58.3% from 63.2%, reflecting a higher share of services. Personnel expenditures rose 17.3% to EUR 49.1 million due to consolidation effects and workforce expansion. Despite a lower EBIT of EUR 0.8 million, liquidity increased significantly to EUR 29.3 million as of June 30, 2026, from EUR 0.1 million at the end of 2025.
The forecast for the current year remains unchanged at the upper end of the range, with revenue of EUR 490 million and an EBIT margin of 9.5% to 10.5%. Work on the first large-scale data center order is proceeding as planned, with delivery starting in the fourth quarter and revenue recognized progressively upon arrival of power plants in the United States. Revenue recognition from the German biomass package is also gaining momentum. Further details are available in the original release on www.newmediawire.com.
