The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) will host the 35th Education & Careers Expo from January 22 to 25 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. The event, which is free and open to the public, brings together over 860 organizations from 23 countries and regions, offering information on further studies and career opportunities.
This year's expo introduces an upgraded "CV Clinic" with six services, including one-to-one CV consultations, professional CV portrait photography, personal colour analysis by clincolour, and the 16 Personality Types Magic Quiz by CTgoodjobs. Job seekers can also access an Aptitude Test Ready Station and 1:1 Trainee Programme & Career Consultation provided by MT20 Consulting Limited. These services aim to help attendees gain deeper insights into their strengths and plan career paths with greater clarity.
The expo is divided into "Education" and "Careers" sections, with four themed days: Civil Servants & Public Services (Jan 22), Next Gen Technologies (Jan 23), Healthcare & Wellness (Jan 24), and Greater Bay Area Opportunities (Jan 25). Over 100 activities will feature industry experts and speakers, including singer-songwriter Serrini, film directors Ho Cheuk-tin and Chiu Sin-hang, and radio DJ Ah Jeng. Government departments such as the Civil Service Bureau and the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department will host seminars, while the "Recruitment Square" offers onsite interviews.
The "Education" section includes zones for local studies, non-Hong Kong education, lifelong learning, and youth. Highlights include the SOPHIE 8x solar car model by the Vocational Training Council and the AI Tower Crane Simulator by the Hong Kong Institute of Construction. Institutions are introducing new programs in robotics and automation engineering to align with workforce trends.
The expo supports Hong Kong's role as an education hub, as outlined in the 2025 Policy Address. Themed seminars like "A Date with Giants" featuring J.P. Morgan and Lenovo aim to inspire university and overseas students to explore opportunities in Hong Kong. The China Hong Kong Elite Union will host "Hong Kong Drifters" sharing their experiences from education to employment.
