The Supervisory Board of ams-OSRAM AG has approved the reappointment of Chief Executive Officer Aldo Kamper, agreeing to a new contract effective October 1, 2026, and running through September 30, 2031. His previous term was set to expire on March 31, 2027. Kamper has been CEO of ams OSRAM since April 2023.
The extension signals the board's confidence in Kamper's leadership, which has been pivotal in realigning the company. Dr. Margarete Haase, Chairwoman of the Supervisory Board, highlighted that under Kamper's guidance, key milestones were achieved, including the successful implementation of the 'Re-establish the Base' efficiency program, strengthening of the financial base, and clear positioning in digital photonics. Kamper's career at OSRAM began in 1994, and he held various leadership roles in LED and specialty lighting, including CEO of the Opto Semiconductors business unit. He pioneered microLED technology and dynamic front-end lighting before joining Leoni AG as CEO in 2018.
Since returning to ams OSRAM in 2023, Kamper launched the 'Re-establish the Base' program to focus the portfolio and improve profitability. Under his leadership, structures were streamlined, responsibilities clarified, and debt reduced. The sale of the non-optical sensing business was completed on July 1, 2026, establishing a sound financial foundation for growth in optical core business and future areas like augmented reality and data communication.
The extension ensures stability as ams OSRAM navigates the fast-growing digital photonics field.
