Andina Copper Corporation (TSX-V: ANDC | FSE: FIR | OTCQB: PMMCF) has reported outstanding drill intercepts from the Cobrasco Project in Choco, Colombia, with drillhole CDH008 confirming the northwest extension of the Cobrasco Central Cu-Mo porphyry system. The hole returned 272 meters grading 0.50% copper, 75 ppm molybdenum, and 1.92 g/t silver from 52 meters downhole, including a higher-grade interval of 152 meters at 0.67% copper, 68 ppm molybdenum, and 1.90 g/t silver from 54 meters.
Drillhole CDH008 was drilled due north to a depth of 652.25 meters to test the northern continuity of the shallow mineralized zone. Near-surface mineralization begins at approximately 52 meters and is associated with multiple mineralized porphyry phases and magmatic-hydrothermal breccias. The Cobrasco mineralized footprint now extends approximately 1,100 meters along strike and 550 meters laterally, and remains open in all directions, with further expansion potential toward the northwest and west-southwest.
Two additional drillholes from the same platform, CDH009 (completed) and CDH010 (in progress), are testing northwest and west-southwest extensions, with assays pending. Visual logging indicates sulfide mineralization consistent with the broader Cobrasco Central system. Ongoing scout drilling continues, with further large step-out holes targeting the northwest and northern extensions planned.

The system continues to grow with each successive drillhole, with the mineralization footprint already covering an area of ~1,100m x 550m, and results from CDH009 and CDH010 expected to further extend. Surface geochemistry and field observations strongly suggest that the mineralization continues to the north and northwest and indeed remains open in all directions. Preparations are being made for the mobilization of a second diamond drilling rig to support the next phase of definition drilling of Cobrasco Central and new porphyry centers still to be tested.”
Geologically, drillhole CDH008 intersected a leached cap with intense supergene alteration over intermineral rhyolite porphyry. Beneath the supergene-leached zone, a 30-meter interval containing chalcocite coating hypogene sulfides suggests incipient secondary copper enrichment. The strongest mineralization is associated with potassic and sericite-altered magmatic-hydrothermal breccias spatially related to intermineral rhyolite porphyry intrusions. Higher Cu-Mo grades are consistently associated with hydrothermal breccia phases, where chalcopyrite occurs as matrix infill and as thin cross-cutting veinlets. Bornite was locally observed, rimming chalcopyrite, indicating a possible later higher-sulfidation event.
