Angkor Resources Launches 2,800-Meter Diamond Drill Program at Andong Bor Copper-Gold Target in Cambodia

Angkor Resources Corp. (TSXV: ANK) announced on June 24, 2026, the initiation of a 2,800-meter diamond drilling program at the Andong Bor copper-gold target in Cambodia. The program, focused on the Thmei North (TN) target, a one-square-kilometer copper anomaly, is designed to test and expand upon mineralization identified in prior exploration.

The drilling is staged around Cambodia's seasonal weather patterns. The first phase, consisting of three 400-meter holes totaling 1,200 meters, commenced on June 24, 2026, and is scheduled for completion during the current dry-season window. A second phase of 1,600 meters is planned for early 2027, once fields are dry and crops have been harvested.

Hole orientation has been designed based on findings from the 2025 drilling campaign, which indicated that the main structures controlling mineralization strike north-northwest and dip steeply to the west. The three initial holes will be drilled to the east to better intersect these mineralized beds. The target is a modified copper porphyry model, where the best mineralization occurs within potassic-altered sediments adjacent to feldspar porphyry diorite dikes. The dikes range from a few meters to tens of meters in width. By drilling eastward, the company aims to maximize intersections of mineralized sedimentary rock as it passes through alternating intrusive and sedimentary lithologies.

Dennis Ouellette, VP Exploration, commented: “Our 2025 drilling told us how this system is oriented. The structures controlling mineralization are north-northwest striking and steeply west dipping, so by drilling to the east we put the core across the mineralized beds rather than down them. The best copper sits in the potassic-altered sediments next to the feldspar porphyry diorite dikes, and an eastward orientation lets us cut the most of that favorable host as we pass in and out of the intrusive dikes.”

Core from the drilling will be logged, photographed, and sampled, with selected intervals dispatched for assay as the program progresses. Beyond Thmei North, the company plans further work at Thmei South, which requires additional auger soil geochemistry to extend the existing copper geochemical anomaly southward and determine its full extent. Thmei South will be the focus of subsequent drill programs.

The Andong Bor license covers 100.28 square kilometers and spans Oddar Meanchey and Banteay Meanchey provinces. Angkor Resources holds two mineral exploration licenses in Cambodia through its subsidiary Angkor Gold Corp. Co., Ltd., with multiple prospects in copper and gold. The company also has an energy subsidiary, EnerCam Resources Co., Ltd., which holds an onshore oil and gas license in Block VIII and is advancing exploration activities.
