Registered dietitian, sports nutrition specialist, and founder of 'Purposeful Fueling,' Beth McCall has announced the release of her debut book, Hello Peace, published by Lucid Books. The book invites women to trade fear, comparison, and shame for lasting peace in Christ through a blend of personal narrative, biblical truth, and guided journaling prompts.
McCall, who has spent over a decade serving high school, collegiate, and professional athletes, wrote the book during a season of deep prayer while pregnant with her son. 'I was wrestling with fear, identity, and old wounds,' McCall said, 'and I sensed the Lord gently leading me to take what He was teaching me in private and turn it into something that could encourage other women.'
In a culture that often pressures women to meet impossible standards, Hello Peace offers a counter-narrative: that true peace comes not from changing one's body or performance but from surrendering to God's transformative love. McCall shares her own journey through an eating disorder, pregnancy, and motherhood, speaking with vulnerability to women who struggle with body image or identity.
'Our culture spends so much time teaching women how to change their bodies,' McCall noted. 'God wants to transform our hearts. Real freedom comes when our identity is anchored in Christ instead of our reflection in the mirror.'
The book serves as an interactive spiritual companion, including journaling prompts and Scripture-based application. McCall emphasized that Hello Peace is not just her story but an invitation for readers to explore their own. 'He's not calling her back to who she used to be. He's calling her forward into who she is becoming,' she said.
Published by Lucid Books, an independent hybrid publisher in the Houston area, Hello Peace aims to reach women navigating pregnancy, motherhood, body image struggles, or a deeper search for identity in Christ. McCall encourages aspiring authors to simply begin, noting that her own writing started as a personal journaling practice without a book in mind.
The announcement highlights a growing trend of faith-based resources addressing mental and emotional health among women. By weaving professional expertise in nutrition and sports with spiritual reflection, McCall positions Hello Peace as a resource for holistic well-being.
