Canamera Energy Metals Signs LOI to Option Patos Ionic Clay Rare Earth Project in Brazil

Canamera Energy Metals Corp. (CSE: EMET) (OTCQB: EMETF) (FSE: 4LF0) announced it has signed a non-binding letter of intent (LOI) to acquire an option to earn a 100% interest in the Patos ionic clay rare earth element (REE) project located in Minas Gerais, Brazil. The project covers approximately 15,979 hectares and represents a strategic addition to Canamera's growing portfolio of rare earth and critical metals assets across the Americas.

The agreement outlines a two-stage process. Initially, Canamera will conduct a due diligence auger drill program of up to 10 holes at a cost of C$20,000 to confirm the presence of ionic clay REE mineralization. If the results are favorable and the company exercises the option, it will be required to make aggregate consideration payments of C$228,000 in cash and issue C$307,800 in common shares to the vendor. Additionally, the vendor will retain a 2% net smelter return (NSR) royalty, with Canamera holding a buyback right to reduce the royalty to 1% for a payment of C$228,000.

This announcement is significant as it underscores Canamera's commitment to expanding its footprint in the rare earth sector, particularly in Brazil, which is emerging as a key jurisdiction for ionic clay REE deposits. Ionic clays are known for their potential to host high-value rare earth elements, including neodymium, praseodymium, and dysprosium, which are critical for permanent magnets used in electric vehicles and renewable energy technologies.

The Patos project adds to Canamera's existing asset base, which includes the Mantle project in British Columbia, the Garrow REE project in Northern Ontario, the Schryburt Lake rare earth and niobium project in Ontario, the Iron Hills critical and rare earth project in Colorado, USA, and the Turvolândia and São Sepé REE projects in Brazil. The company focuses on underexplored regions with strong geological signatures and supportive jurisdictions, applying geochemical, geophysical, and geological datasets to advance high-conviction, first-mover exploration targets.
