Critical Infrastructure Technologies Ltd. (CSE: CTTT) (FRA: X9V) announced an expanded Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Babcock International Group to co-develop and build a rapidly deployable platform integrating 5G communications, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR), and counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) capabilities. The original MOU, signed at the DSEI expo in London in September 2025, focused on supplying 50 Nexus 20 platforms to the Ukrainian Ministry of Defence. The expanded scope now includes all of Europe and Southeast Asia.

The Nexus 20 platform is an autonomous, high-capacity mobile communications system designed for rapid deployment. It supports radio equipment including LTE and other payloads such as surveillance and anti-drone systems. This technology addresses critical gaps in rapidly deployable communication solutions, particularly in strength of the tower and ability to self-deploy and operate.
Babcock International Group, a FTSE 100 international defence company operating in the UK, Australasia, Canada, France, and South Africa, brings extensive experience in delivering complex support and product solutions. The collaboration leverages Babcock’s market presence and CiTech’s patented self-deploying platform technology.
The expanded MOU reflects growing demand for integrated mobile communications and surveillance capabilities in defence sectors across Europe and Southeast Asia. The Ukrainian Armed Forces remain a key beneficiary, but the broader geographic scope indicates a strategic pivot to address wider regional security needs.
CiTech, listed on the CSE and based in Perth, Australia, targets mining, defence, border security, and emergency services. The Nexus 20 is the second product in its lineup, following the Nexus 16. The company has completed research and development and is now commercialising its technology.
The announcement comes as defence forces worldwide seek agile, interoperable solutions for modern threats, including drones and electronic warfare. The Nexus 20’s ability to integrate 5G and ISR capabilities in a rapidly deployable form factor positions it as a potential game-changer for military communications and surveillance.
