Citius Pharmaceuticals Transitions to Commercial Stage with FDA-Approved LYMPHIR and a Robust Pipeline

Citius Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (NASDAQ: CTXR) has evolved from a development-stage biotech into a commercial entity with the FDA-approved targeted immunotherapy LYMPHIR(TM), generating $5.6 million in net revenue in the first half of fiscal 2026. This milestone, coupled with a diversified pipeline addressing critical-care needs, positions the company for significant growth and value creation.

LYMPHIR(TM) (denileukin diftitox-cxdl) received FDA approval in August 2024 for adult patients with relapsed or refractory Stage I-III cutaneous T-cell lymphoma (CTCL) after at least one prior systemic therapy. The commercial launch in December 2025 through Citius Oncology, Inc. (Nasdaq: CTOR) has been met with strong initial uptake, reporting gross margins of approximately 80% and nearly 100% payer coverage of commercial lives. As of May 2026, 83% of targeted accounts had achieved formulary inclusion or were under active review. The company has also initiated international expansion with an initial shipment to Europe in April 2026, and repeat orders from early accounts suggest growing physician engagement.

Beyond the approved indication, Citius is exploring LYMPHIR's potential in other oncology settings. Investigator-initiated studies have evaluated LYMPHIR in combination with pembrolizumab for recurrent or refractory gynecologic cancers and prior to CD19-directed CAR-T therapy in high-risk relapsed or refractory diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. Positive topline results from both Phase 1 studies were reported in fiscal 2026, indicating possible label expansion opportunities.

The late-stage pipeline includes Mino-Lok(R), an antibiotic lock solution designed to salvage central venous catheters in patients with catheter-related bloodstream infections (CRBSIs) and central line-associated bloodstream infections (CLABSIs). These infections pose serious risks, especially for cancer and hemodialysis patients. The completed Phase 3 pivotal superiority trial met its primary and secondary endpoints, and the therapy has received Qualified Infectious Disease Product (QIDP) and Fast Track designations from the FDA. Citius holds worldwide rights through a license from The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Following a Type C meeting, the FDA provided guidance outlining a pathway to support a future New Drug Application submission. The company estimates worldwide sales potential of approximately $1.8 billion, underscoring the commercial opportunity.

Another key candidate is Halo-Lido (CITI-002), a proprietary topical formulation combining halobetasol and lidocaine for hemorrhoid symptom relief. With an estimated 10 million Americans reporting hemorrhoid symptoms annually, and no FDA-approved prescription products currently on the market, Halo-Lido could become the first such product if approved. A Phase 2b study was completed in 2023, and the company has engaged with the FDA to determine next steps.

Citius is also developing a stem cell platform using induced pluripotent stem cell-derived mesenchymal stem cells (i-MSCs) for acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), including sepsis-induced lung injury. Interim results from a proof-of-concept sheep model showed improvements in oxygenation, shock, pulmonary vascular injury, and bacterial clearance compared with controls, supporting further studies and potential human trials.

The leadership team, led by co-founder and CEO Leonard Mazur with five decades of pharmaceutical experience, and co-founder Myron Holubiak, former president of Roche Laboratories, brings deep expertise in development, commercialization, and sales. With LYMPHIR generating revenue and multiple late-stage programs advancing, Citius is strategically positioned to capitalize on its diversified portfolio. For more information, visit Citius Pharma.
