Dr. Patrick Ojo, author of Freedom for Pharmacy, has signed a publishing agreement with Brick Tower Press, as negotiated by Creative Management Partners (CMP) agent Alan Morell. CMP will represent Dr. Ojo's commercial rights across all platforms, including literary works, a sequel, adaptation to a docuseries, speaking engagements, endorsements, advisory roles, online courses, and licensing. The announcement was made on July 14, 2026.
The book aims to demystify the American pharmacy system, offering practical guidance for patients facing rising costs and confusion about medications. Publisher John T. Colby Jr. of Brick Tower Press noted that Freedom for Pharmacy "fills a real niche" and joins a distinguished list of authors including Dr. Jane Goodall and Al Jardine of the Beach Boys. Colby emphasized the timeliness of the book as patients struggle with healthcare complexities.
Dr. Ojo's journey from Benin City, Nigeria, to becoming a U.S. citizen and pharmacist adds a compelling narrative to the work. He earned his Doctor of Pharmacy from Nova Southeastern University and has practiced in community, hospital, and institutional settings. His experience includes working with the New York City Department of Homeless Services while completing his pharmacy degree at Long Island University.
Agent Alan Morell of CMP praised Dr. Ojo as an "American hero" and highlighted the significance of the book during the nation's 250th anniversary. Morell stated that the book is a "must read" for audiences confused by big Pharma's control of the industry, helping readers navigate red tape and achieve freedom in the U.S. medical sector.
Brick Tower Press, known for publishing influential works, will release Freedom for Pharmacy under the guidance of John T. Colby Jr., who previously served as CFO and Secretary of Doubleday Book Shops. CMP, based in Beverly Hills, represents over 700 clients across entertainment, sports, arts, medical, health, and other sectors.
