Edgewater Wireless Secures Strategic Investment from Silicon Catalyst Angels

Edgewater Wireless Systems Inc., a pioneer in AI-powered Wi-Fi Spectrum Slicing™ silicon solutions, announced that Silicon Catalyst Angels I, LLC (SCA) has made a direct strategic investment in the company as part of a recently completed private placement. This investment, along with additional funding from Edgewater Chairman Brian Imrie, strengthens the company's financial position and aligns strategic investors behind its next-generation Spectrum Slicing™ and PrismIQ™ roadmap.

The investment from SCA, a semiconductor-focused angel group, marks a significant milestone for Edgewater as it advances from engineering development toward prototype validation and commercial engagements. SCA's participation brings not only capital but also deep industry expertise and relationships, which are crucial for a company developing disruptive Wi-Fi technology. This strategic backing is a strong validation of Edgewater's approach to solving Wi-Fi congestion and quality-of-service issues through its patented Spectrum Slicing™ technology.

Edgewater's technology is designed to address the growing challenges of Wi-Fi in dense environments, where congestion and interference degrade performance. By enabling multiple concurrent channels in a single band, Spectrum Slicing™ delivers up to a 10x improvement in performance and 50% lower latency, even for legacy devices. This is particularly timely as the industry transitions to Wi-Fi 7 and beyond, where devices have access to very wide channels that are often congested or partially occupied. The company's PrismIQ™ platform is poised to redefine Wi-Fi from the silicon up, offering economic benefits to service providers through reduced churn and improved efficiency.

The relationship between Edgewater and Silicon Catalyst began in November 2024 when Edgewater was selected as a Silicon Catalyst Portfolio Company. Since then, Edgewater has gained access to over 500 industry experts and several million dollars' worth of in-kind design, fabrication, and commercialization resources. The addition of Silicon Catalyst COO Nick Kepler as a Board Observer further integrates Edgewater into the Silicon Catalyst ecosystem. This ecosystem support, combined with the new strategic investments, positions Edgewater to execute on its technical milestones and commercial strategy.

Andrew Skafel, President and CEO of Edgewater Wireless, commented: "Experienced semiconductor investors understand where value can be created: when differentiated technology moves into visible execution. SCA's direct investment is a validation of our novel approach and strengthens Edgewater's strategic investor base at an important point in our development." Brian Imrie, Chairman, added: "My additional investment reflects my confidence in Edgewater's technology, team, and commercial traction."

In the private placement, Edgewater issued a total of 11,955,545 units at $0.06 per unit, raising aggregate gross proceeds of $717,332.70. Each unit consists of one common share and one warrant, with each warrant exercisable at $0.09 for two years. The proceeds will be used for semiconductor design, engineering, and product development related to the Spectrum Slicing™ prototype, as well as general working capital.

Edgewater expects the coming period to include important engineering and ecosystem milestones as it moves from validation to execution, with an initial product release planned for the first half of 2027. The company's innovative approach and strategic backing position it well to lead the next era of intelligent wireless connectivity.
