El Tesoro, a popular Mexican restaurant in Atlanta, has announced plans to open a new 8,600-square-foot location at Lee + White, a mixed-use development in the West End. The new space, located in the 1036 Building, will feature a large bar, indoor and outdoor seating, and big-screen TVs for sporting events. El Tesoro currently operates within the Wild Heaven Brewing facility at Lee + White but will move into its own standalone space, which was previously occupied by Best End Brewing. The restaurant aims to open in March 2026.
This expansion marks El Tesoro's third full-service restaurant in Atlanta, joining its original Edgewood location and a recently announced 3,640-square-foot outpost in South Downtown expected to open in spring 2026. Owner Alan Raines noted that the new space offers room for future growth, including hosting meetings, activities, and weddings. The restaurant will maintain its family recipe favorites—tacos, burritos, tamales, and mulitas—alongside its signature fresh juice margaritas and deep mezcal program, with a slightly elevated casual dining experience.
The lease transaction was brokered by Marisa Roy and Patrick Green of Ackerman Retail, representing owners Ackerman & Co. and MDH Partners. Leo Wiener, President of Ackerman Retail, commented on the positive impact of El Tesoro's growth on Lee + White and the West End neighborhood. In related news, Wild Heaven Beer announced that Eats, a popular meat-and-three restaurant, will replace El Tesoro within the Wild Heaven tap room, targeting a March opening as well.
Lee + White, acquired by Ackerman & Co. and MDH Partners in 2019, is a 442,562-square-foot adaptive reuse development along the Atlanta BeltLine. It features a food hall, creative office space, healthcare providers, trade schools, retail, and the "Great Lawn" event space. The development is accessible via the West End MARTA station and a planned station at Murphy Crossing. Currently, one full-service restaurant space of 3,990 square feet and one food stall are available for lease. The food hall lineup includes 16 eateries such as Cielito Lindo, Costa Coffee, Dough Boy Pizza, and Vietvana, along with the Strangers in Paradise central bar.
