Enapter AG, a global greentech company specializing in anion exchange membrane (AEM) electrolyzers, has received a pilot order worth approximately EUR 0.5 million from a US drone manufacturer. The order includes AEM electrolyzers from the 4.1 series, scheduled for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2026. These electrolyzers will be integrated into mobile, all-terrain refueling systems that produce hydrogen on-site from water and solar power, eliminating the need for grid connections and the complex logistics of transporting hydrogen in compressed gas cylinders.

This development is significant because it addresses a critical barrier to the widespread adoption of hydrogen-powered drones: the difficulty of refueling in remote or off-grid locations. Traditional hydrogen supply chains rely on bulky compressed gas cylinders, which are impractical for field operations.
