The Mommy Archives is set to bring more than 200 New York City parents and children together for an afternoon of music, dancing, and family-friendly activities at Moxy Williamsburg on Sunday, November 8, from 3–6 PM. The event, a Family Dance Party, is designed not only as a joyful gathering but as a vehicle for tangible support: net proceeds will benefit Single Moms of Brooklyn, while family brand Nuna will donate $5,000 worth of products to Room to Grow.
The announcement matters because it reflects a broader shift in how parent communities are addressing isolation and resource gaps. The Mommy Archives, founded by Jules Ferdowsi, connects over 4,400 NYC families through events, newsletters, and social platforms, with a mission to make parenting feel less isolating. By turning a social event into a fundraiser, the organization is modeling how community-building can directly support organizations that serve families in need.
Single Moms of Brooklyn provides emotional support, community, and resources to single mothers, while Room to Grow works with families experiencing poverty during the critical first three years of a child's life. Both organizations have personal significance for Ferdowsi, who is a member of Single Moms of Brooklyn and a solo parent. "I wanted this event to be more than just a fun afternoon for families," Ferdowsi said. "Community is at the heart of everything we do at The Mommy Archives, and I know firsthand how important it is for parents to have a community they can turn to. It was important to me that bringing families together could also directly support other parents and children."
The event’s structure amplifies its impact: ticket sales generate funds for Single Moms of Brooklyn, while Nuna’s product donation extends support to Room to Grow, reaching families beyond those attending. Moxy Williamsburg is serving as venue partner, hosting the event in its Bar Bedford Garden. The afternoon will feature a DJ, photo booth, face painting, crafts, glitter tattoos, games, and other activities, creating an environment where families can connect while contributing to a cause.
For NYC families interested in attending, tickets are available at https://luma.com/l3d94eee. The event underscores the potential of local gatherings to foster community and drive meaningful change, particularly for single-parent households that often face heightened challenges. As Ferdowsi noted, the goal is to ensure that bringing families together also supports other parents and children, turning a festive afternoon into a lasting benefit for the broader community.
