Fitzroy Minerals Reports Wide Shallow Copper Zones at Buen Retiro Project, Chile

Fitzroy Minerals Inc. (TSXV: FTZ, OTCQX: FTZFF, FSE: C3Y) reported results from 15 drill holes at the Tenorita area of its Buen Retiro Copper Project in Copiapo, Chile, revealing broad zones of near-surface copper mineralization amenable to leaching. The company has four rigs operating on site and aims to complete drilling of the Tenorita area by August, with a stated target of production in early 2028.

Drill hole BRT-DDH072 returned 111.9 meters at 0.97% copper from 21.1 meters depth, including 18.0 meters at 1.59% copper from 84 meters. Drill hole BRT-DDH070 intersected 147.7 meters at 0.41% copper from 26.3 meters, including 47.0 meters at 0.88% copper from 113 meters. These results confirm consistent shallow mineralization across about 300 meters east-west in the south-central portion of the Tenorita area, as shown in cross-section A-A’ (see Figure 2).

Merlin Marr-Johnson, President and CEO of Fitzroy, commented: “Buen Retiro continues to deliver excellent results and several of the fifteen drill holes reported today reflect wide zones of mineralization in leachable material close to surface. Note that the best drill hole reported today, drill hole #72, is to the east of drill hole #70, confirming consistent shallow mineralization for about 300 metres across the widest part of the Tenorita area.”

The company has completed 78 diamond drill holes totaling 13,036 meters since February 2026. The current drilling program includes three diamond drill rigs and one reverse circulation rig. One rig is drilling shallow sulphides north of the historical Manto Negro pit in an area renamed Ortuzar, another is testing the southern extension of the Manto Negro pit in an area renamed Nativo, the third is drilling the northeast extension of Tenorita, and the RC rig is testing regional exploration targets.

Fitzroy plans an additional 9,000 meters of drilling in 2026 with three key objectives: advancing the Tenorita area to Measured, Indicated, and Inferred resource categories adequate to support a robust mine-life for inclusion in the Pre-Feasibility Study; defining Inferred resources elsewhere on the property; and testing new exploration targets.

Drill hole BRT-DDH072 returned three sub-intervals of note: 19 meters at 1.50% copper from 32 meters, 18 meters at 1.59% copper from 84 meters, and 18 meters at 1.91% copper from 111 meters. Drill hole BRT-DDH070 included 47 meters at 0.88% copper from 113 meters and 27 meters at 1.20% copper from 133 meters. These results are consistent with previously reported holes, such as drill hole 27, which intersected 133 meters at 0.46% copper from 22 meters (see here), and drill hole 58, which returned 75.0 meters at 0.82% copper from 9.0 meters (also reported here).

The company follows rigorous quality assurance and quality control procedures, including the insertion of blanks, standards, and pulp duplicates representing about 12% of total samples. Core samples are transported to the ALS-Patagonia laboratory in Copiapo, and the qualified person has verified the data.
