Fourth Generation Strengthens NPI’s Legacy as Scott Gould Earns Expanded Leadership Role

Nutritional Products International (NPI), the U.S. brand management and retail distribution firm, announced the promotion of Scott Gould to Vice President of Operations and Business Development, marking the fourth generation of the Gould family’s retail lineage taking on expanded responsibilities. Scott will oversee key operational initiatives, technology integration, and enhancements to NPI’s “Evolution of Distribution” platform, while founder and CEO Mitch Gould continues to lead the company and guide long-standing buyer relationships.

“Scott’s promotion reflects the dedication he has shown across every area of our operations,” said Mitch Gould. “He is strengthening the foundation we’ve built, bringing forward new ideas, and helping modernize the tools and capabilities our clients rely on — while I continue to lead the company and guide our long-standing buyer relationships.” Scott’s hands-on experience in warehouse operations, logistics, supply chain optimization, and retail-facing technology has contributed to improved operational efficiency, enhanced analytics, and a more seamless experience for brands entering the U.S. market.

The Gould family’s retail journey began in the early 1900s, with Mitch’s grandfather building a manufacturing and consumer-goods business in Brooklyn. Mitch’s father expanded the family footprint into distribution and retail development. Mitch entered the retail industry at 23, building relationships with buyers and identifying trends ahead of the market. His career spans major national retailers and iconic consumer brands, including Igloo, Rubbermaid, Sunbeam, Miracle-Gro, and celebrity product lines for Steven Seagal, Hulk Hogan, Ronnie Coleman, Chuck Liddell, and Wayne Gretzky. In 2007, he founded NPI and established the Evolution of Distribution platform.

Scott’s promotion brings modernization without disrupting tradition. He has overseen upgrades to NPI’s real-time analytics tools, enabling faster insights into category trends, inventory flow, and channel performance. Process improvements have strengthened speed-to-market capabilities. NPI has also expanded digital, creator-driven strategies to help brands generate consumer demand through platforms like TikTok and Instagram. Additionally, building on Mitch’s international relationships, NPI is reaching out to innovative brands across Europe, Asia, and Latin America.

The company stressed that this transition is an expansion, not a handoff, strengthening long-term capacity while keeping Mitch’s decades of leadership at the center. “This is about building depth, not shifting responsibility,” Mitch emphasized. “Our clients benefit from the experience of three generations before us — and now from the energy and capabilities of the fourth.” Brands will continue to receive Mitch’s direct leadership and buyer oversight, enhanced operational tools, and a modernized version of the Evolution of Distribution.

“We’re combining 100 years of family retail experience with modern, data-driven execution,” Scott said. “That balance is what makes NPI unique.” NPI is experiencing record momentum, with more brand launches, strengthened international partnerships, and greater demand for its turnkey distribution platform. “Retail will continue to evolve — it always has,” Mitch said. “But our foundation is strong, our values are intact, and our next generation is contributing in ways that reinforce our position. That’s how a family legacy continues.”
