Grafton Resources Inc. (CSE: GFT; OTCQB: GFTFF; FSE: K8L0) announced that Expert Geophysics Surveys Inc. has started an 80 line-kilometre mobile magnetotelluric (MobileMT) heliborne survey at the Alicahue Gold-Copper Project in Valparaiso, Chile. The survey is expected to cover the entire property within one day, with interpreted results anticipated in March 2026.
MobileMT is a leading geophysical technology that aids in identifying subsurface geologic structures, alteration halos, and contrasting lithologies. The survey will also collect complementary VLF-EM data, providing near-surface electromagnetic information to increase resolution of shallow features. Combining these methods should identify deep-seated faults, lithological contacts, and structures controlling mineral systems from the surface to depths of approximately 1 km to 2 km, depending on local geology conductivity.
Campbell Smyth, Chairman of Grafton Resources, stated: "We expect the MobileMT data will provide a three-dimensional image of the Alicahue Project area. We hope the survey will assist us in tracing the outline of a possible porphyry centre in the southeast concession and help us vector towards the origin of the IOCG vein systems and possible feeder zones to gold and copper vein mineralization mapped in the area."
The Alicahue project hosts gold-copper mineralization associated with iron oxide-copper-gold (IOCG) and porphyry-style systems. The survey aims to identify conductive sulphides potentially linked to mineralized porphyry intrusive centres and resistive bodies representative of intrusions. This geophysical work is a key step in advancing the project towards drill targeting.
Grafton Resources is a Canadian exploration company listed on the Canadian Securities Exchange (CSE), focused on the discovery and development of mineral assets in the Americas.
