Great American Media Launches Pure Flix Familia to Serve Latino Families with Faith and Family Streaming

Great American Media is expanding its investment in Latino audiences with the launch of Pure Flix Familia, a streaming destination designed for families seeking culturally relevant entertainment rooted in faith, family, and shared values. The service debuts during Hispanic Heritage Month and the start of the Christmas family-viewing season, offering Spanish-language programming that will grow to include English and bilingual storytelling. This move matters because it targets a rapidly growing and underserved market: U.S. Hispanics wield over $4.1 trillion in purchasing power and spend 55.8% of their TV time streaming, compared to 46% for the general population, according to Nielsen’s 2025 report. By catering to this audience, Great American Media positions itself to capture a significant share of the faith-and-family entertainment market.

“Great American Pure Flix is the leading faith-and-family streaming service, and Pure Flix Familia will build on that foundation with programming and experiences created specifically for Latino families,” said Bill Abbott, President and CEO of Great American Media. “Faith and family are at the heart of Great American Media, and those values have deep roots within the Latino community.” The platform is built around a Total Latino Market strategy that recognizes how Latino audiences move across languages, cultures, countries, and generations, rather than defining viewers solely by language preference. This approach could set a new standard for how media companies serve diverse audiences.

At launch, Pure Flix Familia will offer original, licensed, and Spanish-dubbed movies, series, family entertainment, and faith-centered storytelling. The debut slate includes the first original microdrama, Alquilé Un Novio Para Navidad, a Christmas romcom produced with Minivela, the Latino media company co-founded by Manny Ruiz and Carlos Ponce. “Families shouldn’t have to choose between stories that authentically reflect their culture and entertainment they feel good about bringing into their homes,” Ponce said. In partnership with Chicano Hollywood and Latino film festival leaders, the platform will also support Latino storytellers through a national call for family- and faith-centered films, creating new pathways for independent producers.

The launch complements the programming on Great American Pure Flix and the company’s other brands, including Great American Family, Great American Faith & Living, and GFam+. The U.S. debut is the first step in a longer-term vision to serve audiences throughout Latin America and Spain, building a global Latino and Spanish-language faith and family entertainment brand. Additional announcements about the full launch slate, subscription options, and device availability will be made in the coming weeks.
