Helus Pharma Appoints Dr. Ken Kramer as SVP of Medical Affairs to Advance Serotonergic Agonist Pipeline

Helus Pharma (NASDAQ: HELP) (Cboe CA: HELP), a clinical-stage pharmaceutical company focusing on novel serotonergic agonists (NSAs), has appointed Dr. Ken Kramer, PhD, as senior vice president of medical affairs, effective immediately. Dr. Kramer brings more than 20 years of neuroscience-focused medical affairs leadership, having held senior roles at Bristol Myers Squibb, Karuna Therapeutics and AbbVie. His expertise is expected to support Helus in advancing its pipeline and strengthening engagement with clinical and scientific stakeholders.

The appointment comes as Helus Pharma progresses its lead candidates. HLP003, a proprietary NSA, is in Phase 3 clinical development for the adjunctive treatment of major depressive disorder and has received Breakthrough Therapy Designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. HLP004, another proprietary NSA, is in Phase 2 for generalized anxiety disorder. The company also maintains an extensive research portfolio of investigational NSAs designed to activate serotonin pathways believed to promote neuroplasticity.

Dr. Kramer's experience includes leading medical affairs strategies for neuroscience assets at major pharmaceutical companies. At Karuna Therapeutics, he contributed to the development of KarXT for schizophrenia, and at AbbVie, he oversaw medical affairs for the neuroscience portfolio. His background aligns with Helus's mission to address the large unmet need for people suffering from depression, anxiety and other mental health conditions.

Helus Pharma, the commercial operating name of Cybin Inc., founded in 2019, operates in Canada, the United States, the United Kingdom and Ireland. The company aims to improve the treatment landscape through the introduction of NSAs that provide durable improvements in mental health.
