Hike Doggie Canine Client Leaves Epic 5-Star Review on Yelp

Hike Doggie, a premier dog hiking service based in Golden, Colorado, is celebrating a viral moment after a canine client named Gunnar left a five-star review on Yelp. Written from the perspective of a four-year-old Black Labrador Retriever, the review describes his daylong hiking adventure on June 16 as "the greatest adventure of my life," narrowly beating out his previous top experience of finding a half chicken nugget in a parking lot. The review, which includes a disclaimer that Gunnar is a real dog and not a paid spokesdog, has delighted the company's founder, Kath Allen, who noted that it perfectly encapsulates Hike Doggie's mission to "make dogs as happy as they make us."

Gunnar's review details his day with Hike Doggie, starting with being picked up in one of the company's climate-controlled "Big Blue Busses" and transported to the Rockies. He recounts discovering 17 sticks, cataloguing 43 different smells, and encountering numerous squirrels along the trails. After hours of adventure, he returned home, collapsed face-first on the floor, slept for six hours, barked once in his sleep, and woke up with a leaf still stuck to his butt. His only complaint was that Hike Doggie eventually had to bring him back home. The review is signed off with a playful signature: "Founder & CEO of Barkshire Hathaway, as well as the Director of Sniff Operations/Lead Squirrel Intelligence Officer, Good Boy, First Class."

Gunnar's owner, Kristi Gacke, director of sales and marketing at HHM Hotels in Denver, expressed little surprise at the attention, saying Gunnar has always been expressive and destined for greatness. The full review can be read at this link. Hike Doggie, founded in 2016, serves over 800 dogs monthly in the Denver metro area and has completed over 60,000 hikes across six states through its franchise network.
