HKCEC Hosts 786 Events and 25 New Debuts, Cementing Hong Kong's Role as Global Convention Hub

The Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) has reaffirmed its position as a leading venue for global and Chinese Mainland organisers, hosting 786 events during the financial year 2025–2026 (July 2025 to June 2026). According to a press release distributed via Media OutReach Newswire, the year included 128 exhibitions, 81 international and local conferences, and hundreds of corporate meetings, banquets, and entertainment events. Notably, 25 new conferences and exhibitions made their debut, several of which were first-time events in Hong Kong or Asia, drawing over 7.7 million attendees in total.

Ms Monica Lee-Müller, Managing Director of Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management) Limited (HML), highlighted the strategic focus on four key sectors—Medical, Innovation and Technology, Finance, and Education—which secured landmark debuts. "Leveraging Hong Kong's unique advantage as a gateway between Chinese Mainland and the rest of the world, HML has exemplified Hong Kong's role as a 'Super Connector' and 'Super Value-Adder'," she said. She added that the inaugural events were met with resounding success and have already confirmed their return next year, underscoring the HKCEC's ability to provide a world-class platform that empowers Mainland enterprises to go global while attracting international investment.

Among the standout debuts was the inaugural Hong Kong Comic Con 2026, which demonstrated the immense appeal of launching major international intellectual properties in the city. The event generated substantial economic value and business opportunities, prompting organisers to confirm its return to the HKCEC in 2027. In the medical sector, the 9th World Congress of Pediatric Cardiology & Cardiac Surgery brought together leading experts and more than 3,000 global participants, reinforcing Hong Kong's professional standing. Additionally, the 15th China Chest Pain Centers Congress was held in Hong Kong for the first time, marking a milestone for national medical associations and showcasing the HKCEC's role as a two-way platform for national healthcare standards and Mainland enterprise expansion.

Asia's flagship events have also reaffirmed Hong Kong as their long-term host city. Art Basel Hong Kong, held annually at the HKCEC since 2013, has reached an agreement with the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau to designate Hong Kong as the sole Asian venue for the next four years. Meanwhile, Vinexpo Asia, a premier wine and spirits trade event since 1998, is ending its rotation with Singapore; organiser Vinexposium announced that Hong Kong will become its official home starting in 2027. These commitments signal sustained confidence in Hong Kong's infrastructure and market access.

Looking ahead, HML continues to secure prestigious events. Recent additions include the inaugural LEAP East in July, the inaugural Global Unicorn Summit in August, and the World Cancer Congress 2026 in September. Later this year, the city's premier art toy exhibition, Amazing Toy Show Hong Kong 2026, will debut in December. For more information about the venue, visit http://www.hkcec.com. By continuously attracting high-profile global events, the HKCEC is enriching Hong Kong's events landscape and reinforcing its status as a leading convention and exhibition hub, which is vital for the city's economic growth and international standing.
