HKTDC August Fairs to Spotlight Wellness with Record Participation and New Zones

The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) will host its annual August fairs from 13 to 17 August at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, bringing together more than 1,850 exhibitors from over 30 countries and regions. Under the theme 'Live Well.Stay Well', the events reflect the increasing global focus on wellness, quality living, and holistic wellbeing, offering a one-stop platform for sourcing, business networking, and retail experiences.

This year, the fairs include the 36th Food Expo, 10th Beauty & Wellness Expo, and 12th Home Delights Expo, running from 13 to 17 August, alongside the 4th Food Expo PRO and 17th Hong Kong International Tea Fair from 13 to 15 August. For the first time, exhibitors from all ASEAN member states will be present, including debut participations from Brunei and Timor-Leste, as well as first-time exhibitors from Colombia and Greece. The Agricultural Trade Promotion Center of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of China has also organized delegations from multiple provinces to showcase premium agricultural products, using Hong Kong as a gateway to global markets.

The fairs feature 43 group pavilions, including the Korea Pavilion, which has expanded by 40% to host more than 130 exhibitors, making it the largest overseas pavilion. New zones include the 'Meat Zone' at Food Expo PRO, responding to demand for premium meats, with highlights such as Korean frozen marinated barbecue and halal-certified beef tendon balls from a long-established Hong Kong brand. The 'Coffee Zone' returns with exhibitors from Yunnan, Colombia, and other regions, while the 'Food Science and Technology Zone' showcases intelligent food-service robots and alternative foods, with the Food Tech Symposium exploring technology-driven innovation in the industry.

The Hong Kong International Tea Fair introduces the Chinese Mainland Matcha Pavilion, featuring ceremonial-grade matcha from Guizhou and Zhejiang, and the Yixing Zisha Teaware Pavilion. New 'Tea Lifestyle' zone highlights innovative tea products, including sparkling tea and tea-based cocktails, along with tea meditation experiences. The Hong Kong International Tea Culture Forum will discuss the internationalization of Chinese tea brands.

The Beauty & Wellness Expo debuts the 'Stay Relax' zone with products like red-light therapy capsules, and returns with the popular 'Scentsation' zone featuring interactive fragrance experiences. The Home Delights Expo introduces 'Go Sleep Exp' in partnership with the Sleep Health Association, focusing on quality sleep, and showcases smart home technologies from HKT with exclusive discounts.

In line with the wellness theme, the fairs feature Five Themed Days: 'Happy Eat Happy Life', 'The World in Blink', 'Coffee or Tea', 'Stay Fresh, Stay Ahead', and 'Let's Chill', offering programs such as celebrity chef demonstrations, wellness forums, and horticultural therapy workshops. The Food Expo also introduces a Dessert and Gelato Theme with over 100 dessert products, including low-fat gelato made with patented mushroom extract from Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

The International Conference of the Modernization of Chinese Medicine and Health Products (ICMCM) runs from 13 to 15 August, expanded to three days with over 30 speakers from around the world. The conference focuses on clinical translation and regulatory policies, supporting Hong Kong's role in Chinese medicine modernization. Public education displays and forums at the Food Expo aim to enhance understanding of Chinese medicine.

To celebrate HKTDC's 60th anniversary, special promotions include free admission before noon for designated leaflet holders, daily lucky draws with prizes worth over HK$1 million, and '6'-themed offers from exhibitors. Visitors can also participate in 'Smart Bidding' sessions and enjoy discounts through the 'August Happy Buy' campaign. E-tickets are available via multiple platforms, and morning and evening admission tickets return for convenience.

These events underscore Hong Kong's position as an international food trading hub and its commitment to promoting wellness and quality living, providing significant opportunities for businesses to connect with regional and global markets.
