The Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) launched the GreenBiz HK campaign in Bangkok on March 18, comprising a forum, networking events, and business matching, alongside a Hong Kong Green Team delegation. The initiative aims to foster collaboration between Hong Kong and Thailand in the green economy, highlighting Hong Kong's role as a superconnector and international green finance and innovation hub.
The GreenBiz HK Forum, held at the Grande Centre Point Lumphini Hotel, attracted over 550 representatives from government and business across Thailand. Dr Chadchart Sittipunt, Governor of Bangkok, was the Guest of Honour and delivered opening remarks. The forum promoted exchange in green finance, green technology, supply chain, and sustainable smart city development, strengthening long-standing Hong Kong-Thai economic ties.
Anna Cheung, Assistant Executive Director of the HKTDC, stated: "Hong Kong is well established as a superconnector and super value-adder. Its thriving ecosystem for green innovation and sustainable development combines policy support with strong finance flows, targeted R&D funding, dedicated innovation clusters and scalable solutions. GreenBiz HK enables business leaders and experts from Hong Kong and Thailand to exchange practical insights and explore mutually beneficial opportunities."
The forum featured a plenary session on "Hong Kong-Thailand Partnerships for Sustainability and Innovation" with leaders from HSBC, Bank of China (Hong Kong), ATAL Engineering Group, Asia Carbon Institute, and Charoen Pokphand Group. They explored cross-border collaboration in green finance, innovation, and sustainable development. Two concurrent breakout sessions focused on green technology and integrated design, and smarter, greener cities, with speakers from ASTRI, Henderson Land, Arup, and Thailand's National Innovation Agency.
Business matching sessions translated dialogue into concrete partnership opportunities. The campaign is part of the Economic and Trade Express platform, helping Hong Kong SMEs explore overseas markets. A Hong Kong Green Team delegation, co-led by Ms Anna Cheung and Ir Dr Lo Wai Kwok, is in Bangkok from March 17-20 to explore green market opportunities, meeting with the Thai Green Building Institute, Eastern Economic Corridor Office, and other major developers.
GreenBiz HK brings together Hong Kong's green service providers across green finance, ESG advisory, green building, property technology, and smart city solutions. The HKTDC will continue to use this platform to organize business missions and conferences, supporting enterprises in Southeast Asia and the Chinese Mainland in leveraging Hong Kong's strengths to expand internationally and advance sustainable development.
