Hong Kong Toys, Baby Products, and Stationery Fairs Open with New 'Pop & Play' Pavilion and Strong International Participation

The 52nd HKTDC Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair, 17th HKTDC Hong Kong Baby Products Fair, and 24th Hong Kong International Stationery & School Supplies Fair opened today at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, running through January 15. Jointly organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and Messe Frankfurt (HK) Ltd, the three fairs bring together exhibitors and buyers from around the world, fostering cross-regional trade cooperation.

The Joint Opening Ceremony was officiated by Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government Under Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Dr. Bernard Chan, HKTDC Executive Director Sophia Chong, and HKTDC Toys Advisory Committee Chairman Bryant Chan. Jenny Koo, HKTDC Deputy Executive Director, noted that the fairs, themed 'New Play for All,' cover play, growth, and creativity. The new 'Pop & Play' pavilion, open to both trade buyers and the public, aims to tap into the pop toy and collectibles market, offering enhanced cross-sector business opportunities.

The fairs have attracted more than 2,600 exhibitors from 37 countries and regions, including new participants from Bangladesh, New Zealand, and Norway. The HKTDC has organized over 200 buyer missions from more than 40 countries, including major e-commerce platforms, importers, department stores, and specialty retailers.

Several product trends are emerging. The 'Pop & Play' pavilion showcases some 150 famous IPs, including B.Duck, Hot Toys, and threezero, with fair premieres and global limited-edition collectibles. For example, TUTU MOKEY offers collectible figurines limited to 88 pieces globally (Booth: CH-F05). The Kidult World in Hall 3E features toys for adults, such as the NARUTO Collectible Metal Keychain (Booth: 3E-E13).

Happy Ageing products are in demand, with a new label at the Toys & Games Fair to help buyers identify toys for seniors. Over 40 exhibitors adopt the label, showcasing products like color-sorting exercises using clips (Booth: 1CON-015) and companion plush toys (Booth: 1D-C38). Sustainable products are also highlighted, with more than 400 exhibitors using the Green Solutions label, an increase of approximately 10% from 2025. For instance, one exhibitor presents the Beach Life OBP Material Beach Funnel Set crafted from ocean bound plastic (Booth: 1C-D02).

Learning and play combined is another trend, with products like Canadarm toys (Booth: 1E-C35) that allow children to assemble robotic arms. Korean film/TV-related products are a new focus, including a replica of the Gonggi Tossing Game from Squid Game (Booth: 1E-B16) and the Pinkfong Baby Shark Alphabet Learning Bus (Booth: 1CON-044).

The 'Pop & Play' pavilion features interactive activities, including artist sessions and autograph signings. On January 14, a seminar titled 'Explosive Growth of IP Economy: from Local Success to Global Reach' will feature Maxim Wang, Head of Toys Category, Alibaba 1688, and Leung Man Lai Lily, CEO of Nikopicto Limited. The Asia Toys & Games Forum, themed 'Empowering the Toy Industry for Global Success,' will be held tomorrow with speakers from Euromonitor International, Disney, SGS, and others.

The Baby Products Fair includes expanded World of Strollers and Gear and ODM Strollers and Gear zones, hosting approximately 230 exhibitors. The Stationery & School Supplies Fair welcomes exhibitors from New Zealand for the first time, showcasing optical magnifiers. The three fairs operate under the EXHIBITION+ model, combining physical access with the Click2Match smart-matching platform, available online from January 5 to 22, 2026.
