Pieri, a student at Florida State University, was selected for her compassionate care of a rescue dog named Zeke.
Pieri took over the responsibility of caring for Zeke when her friend, his original foster parent, fell ill. Her dedication ensured Zeke maintained stability and routine during a critical transition period. "Helping care for Zeke also showed me how important foster networks are for rescue animals," Pieri said. "Foster dogs rely on stability, routine, and kindness while they transition from uncertain pasts to hopeful futures. By stepping in while my friend was sick, I was able to help maintain that stability for him."
In addition to her volunteer work with animals, Pieri is pursuing dual degrees in Accounting and Economics with a minor in Commercial Entrepreneurship at Florida State University. She remains active in pageants and advocates for breast cancer research. She also volunteers with the IRS Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, assisting community members with tax preparation.
Pieri has already laid a strong foundation for her professional career. During the summer of 2026, she worked as a Receivable Intern at SBA Communications. She has plans to join CohnReznick as a Tax Intern in 2027. After completing her undergraduate studies, she intends to pursue a Master's degree and sit for the CPA exam. Her goal is to become a Certified Public Accountant, specializing in tax and public accounting.
