LaFleur Minerals Inc. (CSE: LFLR) (OTCQB: LFLRF) (FSE: 3WK0) is expanding its footprint in the Abitibi Greenstone Belt, one of Canada's most prolific gold-producing regions. The company has acquired 100% right, title and interest in 27 mineral claims totaling 701 hectares, adjacent to its recently acquired McKenzie East Project near Val-d'Or, Québec. This addition brings LaFleur's total land holdings in the belt to over 57,083 acres (approximately 23,101 hectares).
The newly acquired claims are reported to have a historical gold showing and are currently active and in good standing until June 12, 2027. LaFleur plans to pursue an aggressive exploration strategy on these claims, which are strategically located to complement the McKenzie East Project. This expansion underscores the company's commitment to consolidating a significant land position in a region known for its rich gold endowment.
LaFleur is positioning itself as a near-term gold producer. The company's Beacon Gold Mill, which underwent refurbishing upgrades, is expected to resume production in the coming months. This timing is favorable as gold prices are currently well above the levels seen when the mill ceased operations in 2022. The restart of the mill will enable LaFleur to capitalize on the strong gold market and generate cash flow from its operations.
The Abitibi Greenstone Belt is recognized as the largest gold-producing region in Canada, hosting numerous past and present mines. LaFleur's growing land package in this belt, combined with its processing infrastructure, provides a solid foundation for growth. The company's technical team, led by Qualified Person Louis Martin, P.Geo., will oversee exploration and development activities to advance the projects.
