LAURION Mineral Exploration Inc. (TSX-V: LME | OTC: LMEFF | FSE: 5YD) announced assay results from drill holes LBX26-106 and LBX26-107, part of its ongoing 2026 Phase 1 diamond drilling program at the 100%-owned Ishkoday Gold and Polymetallic Project in Northwestern Ontario. The results confirm the presence of high-grade gold and polymetallic mineralization at depth and along strike, reinforcing the project's potential for a large-scale mineral system.
Hole LBX26-106 returned 3.75 metres grading 0.568 g/t gold, 12.40 g/t silver, 0.46% copper and 1.75% zinc from 278.75 m, including a 0.50-metre interval of 1.730 g/t gold, 43.20 g/t silver, 1.51% copper and 3.40% zinc. The hole also intersected 4.70 metres grading 0.582 g/t gold, 2.53 g/t silver, 0.07% copper and 0.93% zinc from 172.50 m, including 0.50 metres of 3.220 g/t gold, 9.70 g/t silver, 0.30% copper and 6.29% zinc. Hole LBX26-107 returned 1.15 metres grading 1.374 g/t gold, 10.10 g/t silver, 0.49% copper and 2.01% zinc from 239.80 m, and 2.90 metres grading 0.608 g/t gold, 11.93 g/t silver, 0.34% copper and 0.93% zinc from 351.40 m.
These intercepts are significant because they demonstrate the continuity of mineralization within the A-Zone and McLeod mineralized systems, which are key targets for the company's exploration strategy. The A-Zone is the focus of LAURION's efforts to define a maiden Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE). The drill holes were designed to test the down-plunge extension of the A-Zone and to reduce pierce-point spacing in the McLeod horizon, providing critical data to evaluate the geometry and extent of mineralization.
In response to these results, LAURION has increased its planned Phase 1 drilling from 3,865 metres to 5,605 metres across 22 drill holes. This expansion is informed by an independent structural gap analysis by SRK Consulting, which identified five priority target areas. The company is using this framework to prioritize near-term drilling as it systematically advances the A-Zone toward a potential MRE. The increased program underscores management's confidence in the project's potential and its commitment to data-driven exploration.
The implications of these results extend beyond the immediate intercepts. They suggest that the Ishkoday Project hosts a robust gold-rich base metal system that remains open at depth and along strike. Successful delineation of an MRE could significantly enhance the project's value and attract further investment. LAURION's strategy emphasizes disciplined exploration, integrated geological modelling and responsible capital allocation, positioning the company to build technical clarity and scale before monetization.
