GRANTSBURG, IL – At 72 and legally blind, Lois Inman is in the final days of a community investment campaign to create Southern Illinois' first solar-powered agritourism destination. Bone + Bear Farms, a women-led venture on 30 acres, seeks to raise $50,000 by December 1 on Honeycomb Credit, an SEC-regulated platform. As of November 25, the campaign had reached $17,771, or 35% of its goal. If the minimum is not met, all funds will be returned to investors.

Inman's vision is rooted in her grandmother Della's goat-milk soap recipes, passed down through four generations. The farm will feature three core components: The Gilded Goat, a heritage skincare line; eco-luxury glamping with stargazer tents and tiny cabins; and on-farm experiences like mobile laser tag, farm-to-table dining, and seasonal events. The funds will complete a solar-powered production space, glamping infrastructure, a guest bathhouse, expanded utilities, and educational areas for teaching farming, skincare, and renewable energy.

"I'm taking everything my grandmother handed me—our land, her recipes, and a belief in rural women—and turning it into a place where people can actually visit, meet the goats, and see where their skincare comes from," Inman said. "You can invest in our business, earn potential returns, and literally walk the land, meet the herd, stay in a tent under the stars. This is about proving that rural places and multigenerational family businesses are still worth investing in."

The farm aims to serve as a rural workforce and artisan hub, training local women in skincare production, hospitality, and agritourism, while showcasing products from nearby makers and attracting visitors from surrounding metro areas. Honeycomb Credit is waiving investor transaction fees from Small Business Saturday (November 29) through Cyber Monday (December 1), allowing more of each investment to go directly to the project.

Investments start at $100 and can be made through the campaign page: https://invest.honeycombcredit.com/campaigns/Bone-+-Bear-Farms. The campaign closes December 1, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. EST. Investing in small businesses involves risk, including possible loss of principal. Review all terms and risks on the offering page before investing.
