As flooding devastates the Texas Hill Country once again, LiftFund has launched the 2026 Texas Hill Country Flood Relief Program to assist small businesses and nonprofits struggling to recover from the latest storms. Many businesses were still rebuilding from last year's floods when new damage struck, compounding financial hardships. The program offers grants of up to $10,000 for eligible applicants in 16 counties: Bandera, Blanco, Burnet, Comal, Edwards, Gillespie, Hays, Kendall, Kerr, Kimble, Llano, Mason, Medina, Menard, Real, and Uvalde.
Eligible businesses must have been operating on or before July 1, 2025, and demonstrate negative economic impact from the July 2026 floods. Funds can be used for rebuilding, equipment replacement, and general operating expenses. LiftFund President and CEO Amy Hereford emphasized the urgency: "Our hearts are with the Texas small businesses facing yet another tragic disaster. When disasters strike, they need trusted partners who can respond in a matter of days."
Over the past year, LiftFund deployed 525 grants and loans totaling over $17 million for Hill Country businesses. With over three decades of experience, the organization has developed disaster recovery systems prioritizing speed and equitable access to capital. "Every small business that reopens strengthens its community," Hereford added. "When entrepreneurs recover, employees return to work, families regain stability, and local economies begin moving forward."
