Kelli Hull, a Texas A&M graduate and former government contractor, has opened Monkee's of Fair Oaks Ranch, a veteran-owned women's boutique in the Lemon Creek Ranch development serving Fair Oaks Ranch and Boerne. The store fills a gap in the local market for contemporary designer clothing, which previously required a 45-minute drive to San Antonio.
Hull, who moved back to Texas after nearly 20 years in Washington, D.C., identified a significant market gap after hearing from other women frustrated by the lack of nearby options for contemporary fashion. The boutique is part of the Monkee's franchise, a North Carolina-based chain known for carrying major contemporary designers in small, neighborhood storefronts. Hull discovered the brand eight years ago in Raleigh and was impressed by how a small boutique could offer such well-known labels. The franchise's collective buying power allows even new store owners like Hull to access major showrooms in New York and purchase for the season ahead.
Monkee's of Fair Oaks Ranch is the eighth Monkee's location in Texas and approximately the 67th nationwide. At just over 1,200 square feet, the store offers a curated selection of contemporary designers across a range of price points, enabling customers to shop for day-to-night attire without leaving the Hill Country.
Hull emphasizes a personal shopping experience, aiming to boost customers' confidence. She describes her commitment to ensuring every customer leaves wearing something that looks phenomenal. As a veteran-owned business in Military City USA, the store plans to support the military community, with details to be announced later.
The boutique is located in the Lemon Creek Ranch development near Fair Oaks Ranch and Boerne. Customers can follow updates on Instagram at @monkeesoffairoaks, and find store information on the website monkeesoffairoaks.com, with online shopping planned for 2027.
