The Nordex Group has received orders from the EFG Energy Farming Group to supply and install twelve wind turbines for several citizen wind projects in Lower Saxony, Germany. The projects, named “Erlte-Endel” in the district of Vechta and the “Bad Essen” project cluster in the district of Osnabrück, together have an installed capacity of around 82 MW. Each contract includes a Premium Service agreement for 20 years, ensuring long-term operational support.
For the “Erlte-Endel” wind farm, Nordex will supply and install five N175/6.X turbines on hybrid towers with a hub height of 179 meters. The “Bad Essen” wind farm cluster will see the installation of seven turbines: five N175/6.X on 179-meter towers and two N163/6.X turbines with a hub height of 164 meters. This cluster comprises four wind energy projects: Langewiesen-Nord, Langewiesen-Süd, Rabber Wiesen, and the Wimmerbruch repowering project.
Initial infrastructure work is set to begin at the end of 2026, with turbine installation planned for 2027 and commissioning scheduled for spring 2028. The wind farms, developed by the EFG Energy Farming Group, will be operated by landowners and regional citizen wind companies, emphasizing community involvement from the outset.

The orders underscore the growing trend of community-owned renewable energy projects in Germany, which are seen as vital for achieving the country's climate goals. By involving local stakeholders, these projects ensure that the benefits of the energy transition are distributed locally, fostering public acceptance and support.
Nordex Group, with over 64 GW of wind power capacity installed since 1985, continues to strengthen its presence in the German market. The company's product portfolio focuses on onshore turbines in the 4 to 7 MW+ classes, designed for regions with limited space and constrained grid capacity. The N175/6.X and N163/6.X turbines are part of this portfolio, offering high efficiency and reliability.
