In a city often marked by division and violence, the Peace Rides have emerged as a powerful symbol of hope and unity. Founded in South Central Los Angeles, United in Peace is a grassroots, multiethnic, multifaith movement dedicated to reducing violence and fostering lasting peace. For over fourteen years, the foundation has organized monthly Peace Rides that bring together people from all walks of life in a visible demonstration of solidarity and compassion.
Each Peace Ride features a colorful procession of lowriders, motorcycles, Corvettes, classic cars, and community vehicles traveling through neighborhoods impacted by violence. Along the route, participants stop to comfort families who have lost loved ones, offering prayers, encouragement, and support. Volunteers also distribute The Way to Happiness, a nonreligious common-sense guide to better living, reminding communities that no family grieves alone. The rides conclude with a community rally featuring live entertainment, food, and fellowship, as well as the sharing of Million Man March pledge cards and educational materials that promote personal responsibility and positive decision-making.
The Peace Rides are more than events; they represent a movement built on the belief that lasting change begins with ordinary people choosing peace every day. What started as local rides in Long Beach, Compton, Carson, and Inglewood has grown into a nationwide movement, with Peace Rides and United in Peace Festivals held in cities such as Harlem, Oakland, Kansas City, and St. Louis.

Since its inception, the Church of Scientology Celebrity Centre International has been a founding supporter, providing sponsorship alongside many volunteers, organizations, faith communities, and civic leaders.
