PNE AG has adjusted its earnings guidance for the 2026 financial year, citing project delays that will push anticipated revenues into 2027. The company now expects EBITDA of between EUR 60 million and EUR 75 million and normalised EBITDA of between EUR 65 million and EUR 80 million. The reduction stems primarily from the postponement of certain projects, as transaction processes are taking longer than originally expected and some permitting procedures have been delayed. Additionally, PNE has decided to retain certain operational wind farms that had been earmarked for sale within its own generation portfolio, further impacting short-term earnings.
Despite the revised outlook, PNE AG emphasizes that its operational business continues to perform very successfully in 2026. To date, the PNE Group has sold eleven projects with a combined nominal capacity of approximately 361 MW in its core markets of Germany, Poland, and France. The company has also made significant progress in expanding its project pipeline. So far this year, the PNE Group has received permits for ten wind energy projects in Germany with a combined nominal capacity of approximately 374 MW. In international markets, permits have been obtained for three wind farms with a combined nominal capacity of approximately 290 MW and 13 photovoltaic power plants with a combined nominal capacity of approximately 335 MWp. These achievements have advanced additional projects into the next stage of development and laid the foundation for future growth.
“Despite the strong operational performance achieved so far in 2026, the timing effects resulting from project postponements will not be fully reflected in our earnings,” said Heiko Wuttke, CEO of PNE AG. “Nevertheless, the project sales completed and the permits obtained underline the high quality of our project pipeline and the strength of our business model.” Wuttke added that PNE AG therefore continues to expect one of the best results of recent years. He also highlighted the broader market context: “There is no alternative to renewable energy. Electrification, digitalisation, rising energy demand from data centres, climate protection targets and government expansion plans will continue to drive demand over the long term. Despite the currently challenging market environment, the structural growth drivers remain intact. We are well positioned to benefit from this development.”
The guidance adjustment matters because it underscores the inherent timing risks in renewable energy project development, where permitting and transaction processes can shift revenues between fiscal years. However, the strong operational metrics—project sales and permit acquisitions—demonstrate that PNE’s underlying business remains robust. For investors, the news may prompt a reassessment of near-term earnings expectations, but the long-term growth trajectory appears intact. The decision to retain certain wind farms in its own generation portfolio also signals a strategic shift toward securing recurring revenue streams, which could provide more stable cash flows in the future. As the global energy transition accelerates, PNE AG’s ability to navigate these delays and capitalize on structural demand drivers will be critical.
