Pribanic & Pribanic Sponsors White Oak and Mon Valley Community Events

Pribanic & Pribanic, a Pittsburgh law firm, is sponsoring two community events this month in the White Oak and Mon Valley area: the Fido Food Truck Fest on Sept. 12 in White Oak and the Yough n Roll Bike Ride and Party on the Trail on Sept. 19 in Elizabeth Township. The sponsorships underscore the firm's commitment to the communities it serves and highlight the vital role local businesses play in sustaining grassroots organizations.

The Fido Food Truck Fest is the fifth annual fundraiser for White Oak Animal Safe Haven, a no-kill animal shelter founded in 2003. The event runs from 2 to 6 p.m. at White Oak Volunteer Fire Department No. 1 and will include food trucks, basket raffles, a 50/50 raffle and mystery boxes. Last year's event raised about $10,000 to help fund the shelter's medical care, training, grooming and adoption programs. Sponsorships like this are crucial for small nonprofits that rely on community support to continue their mission.

The Yough n Roll Bike Ride and Party on the Trail is organized by the Mon/Yough Trail Council, an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization with more than 500 members that maintains 15 miles of the Great Allegheny Passage. The 32nd annual event starts at Boston Riverfront Park and Rhino Memorial Field and offers 20- and 40-mile bike routes along the Youghiogheny River, along with a shorter Family Fun Ride for families. A community party follows the ride with music, local artists, historians, food, giveaways, children's games and representatives from area public safety agencies. Last year the trail hosted visitors from 48 states and 20 countries, and volunteers logged more than 5,000 hours maintaining the trail. Tim Banfield is the Mon/Yough Trail Council's contact for the event. More information is available at thebostontrail.com.

These events are more than just fundraisers; they are cornerstones of community life in the Mon Valley. The Fido Food Truck Fest supports animal welfare, while the Yough n Roll Bike Ride promotes outdoor recreation and tourism along the Great Allegheny Passage. By sponsoring both, Pribanic & Pribanic is investing in the health and vitality of the region. Such corporate involvement can inspire other businesses to give back, creating a ripple effect that strengthens local economies and social fabric.

Pribanic & Pribanic was founded by Victor Pribanic and later joined by his brothers Michael, Ernest and Jeffrey. For more than five decades, the firm has represented injured Pittsburghers in matters involving personal injury, wrongful death, medical malpractice, defective products, automobile defects, nursing home negligence, workers' compensation, birth injuries, and catastrophic injuries. Attorney Cheryl Penrod, a registered nurse before becoming a lawyer, brings clinical insight to the firm's medical malpractice cases against hospitals, doctors and health care systems. When insurance companies push back, Pribanic & Pribanic pushes harder for its clients.

The firm's sponsorships support two organizations that serve the White Oak and Mon Valley community, from animal welfare to outdoor recreation along the Great Allegheny Passage. This commitment reflects a broader trend of businesses taking active roles in community development, which can lead to stronger, more resilient neighborhoods. As the events approach, residents can look forward to opportunities to connect, contribute, and enjoy the outdoors, all made possible in part by the firm's support.
