Samsung’s Z Fold8 and Z Fold8 Ultra Launch on Verizon with Simplified Plans and Significant Savings

Verizon today began taking preorders for Samsung’s latest foldable smartphones, the Galaxy Z Fold8 and Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, as part of a push to offer high-end devices on its simplified Simplicity Plan. The announcement underscores Verizon’s strategy to reduce carrier complexity while making advanced technology more accessible.

The Galaxy Z Fold8, starting at $1,899.99, and the Z Fold8 Ultra, starting at $2,099.99, are available in multiple colors including Lavender, Graphite, and Cream. Verizon is also launching the Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra2 alongside the phones. Preorders run through August 7, when the devices hit retail stores and verizon.com.

Key to Verizon’s offer is the Simplicity Plan, which eliminates network tiers and offers a flat $30 per month rate for new customers who switch from another carrier and enroll in Auto Pay and paper-free billing. Under this plan, the Galaxy Z Fold8 (256GB) is available for $60 per month over 48 months—$30 for the plan and $30 for the phone—with no trade-in required. The Z Fold8 Ultra can be had for $35 per month on the same plan after a $420 promotional credit applied over 48 months.

For existing customers, Verizon is offering up to $1,100 off with trade-in on Unlimited Plus or Unlimited Ultimate plans. Additionally, the carrier is promoting an Ultimate Bundle that includes a Galaxy Watch9 and Galaxy Tab S10 FE when purchasing a new Samsung phone on a payment plan or bringing an eligible device.

Verizon is also incentivizing loyalty and engagement through its new Verizon Dollars program, which offers cash back each month, and Verizon Shine, a weekly giveaway for experiences. For entertainment, buyers of the Z Fold8 or Z Fold8 Ultra can get the Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ (With Ads) bundle free for six months on the Simplicity Plan or myPlan.

The launch comes as Verizon continues to streamline its offerings, aiming to attract customers seeking premium devices without the usual carrier friction. By pairing Samsung’s innovative folding technology with straightforward pricing, Verizon hopes to boost adoption of foldables and retain subscribers in a competitive market.
