Search Atlas, the AI-powered SEO and marketing platform serving over 30,000 customers and 5,000 agencies, has completed a full migration of its own website, searchatlas.com, from WordPress to Next.js. The move, announced on August 18, 2026, marks a strategic shift away from the plugin-heavy architecture that the company says had become a maintenance burden as the site scaled.
The company originally built its site on WordPress eight years ago, attracted by its ease of use and extensibility. However, as the site grew, each new plugin, theme customization, and page template added complexity, making the codebase harder to manage. This pattern, common among fast-growing companies, eventually led to performance issues and increased overhead. With AI search and agentic browsers changing how users and machines interact with websites, Search Atlas determined that speed and performance are now critical. WordPress's plugin-and-theme architecture, while flexible, loads extra code that slows down pages and increases the risk of failures.
By rebuilding as a static HTML site on Next.js, Search Atlas has eliminated plugin sprawl and created a faster, more reliable experience. The company states that the new architecture is designed to load quickly and remain fast as the site evolves. But the more significant change is operational: the entire website is now under the direct, agentic management of the Search Atlas platform and its Atlas Agent. This means technical fixes, on-page SEO changes, and new landing pages that previously required a developer familiar with WordPress can now be handled directly through the platform. The agentic system covers technical fixes, on-page SEO, conversion rate improvements, paid-media landing pages, and A/B and multivariate testing, all within the same platform offered to customers.
This migration serves as a practical proof point for Search Atlas's value proposition. The company's own marketing site now operates as a live example of its agentic website management, showcasing how an AI-managed site can perform in production under real traffic. For prospective customers, the site demonstrates that the platform's methods work at scale. Arman Advani, Partner at Search Atlas, explained: "We built our own site on WordPress for eight years because it was easy, and then we outgrew it the same way our customers do. Moving to Next.js and putting the whole site under Atlas Agent isn't just faster pages - it's us running our own website exactly the way we tell customers to run theirs."
The shift is a response to the demands of AI-driven search and the need for rapid, efficient web operations. As AI systems increasingly parse websites directly, page speed and clean code become competitive advantages. By embracing Next.js and agentic management, Search Atlas positions itself as a forward-thinking operator, aligning its internal practices with the solutions it sells. The company, founded in 2021 by Manick Bhan, who also created OTTO SEO, has quickly grown to serve customers in over 200 countries. This migration underscores a broader industry trend toward streamlined, performance-focused web architectures that can adapt to the evolving digital landscape.
