The eSummit, a gathering for leaders across the electronics value chain, is transforming into a year-round program called eSummit360, the Sustainable Electronics Recycling International (SERI) announced. The move recognizes that the conversations and work needed to advance electronics sustainability cannot be confined to a single annual event. By offering continuous engagement, eSummit360 aims to give participants an ongoing platform to connect, collaborate, and tackle real challenges as active contributors rather than passive audience members. This shift could accelerate progress on critical issues such as extending product lifespans, improving recycling rates, and fostering global cooperation.
Registration has opened for the first annual in-person event under this new model, eSummit27, scheduled for March 8-10, 2027, at the Omni Tempe at ASU in Tempe, Arizona. Those interested can find more details and register by visiting the announcement page, where they can also access downloadable images, bios, and additional information. SERI is offering launch pricing of $799 through November 2, after which the rate will rise to $1,299. The registration fee includes all sessions, meals, and receptions, making it a comprehensive package for attendees.
SERI also recognized five organizations as eSummit360 Champions: Blackbelt360, eBay, Lenovo, re:Cycle Reverse Logistics (an Amazon company), and Sims Lifecycle Services. These champions support the year-round programming, including the in-person eSummit, underscoring the collaborative effort required to drive sustainable practices across the electronics industry. Their involvement signals a growing commitment from major players to address the lifecycle of electronic products.
SERI is a global non-profit 501(c)(3) organization based in the United States with a mission to champion and drive the sustainable use, reuse, and recycling of electronics globally. Its programs work toward a 10/35 vision: that by 2035, 10-year lifespans will be common among electronics, and all materials will be reused at end-of-life. SERI's initiatives include the R2 Standard for responsible electronics reuse and recycling, the eSummit, the ei (electronics impact) Reporting Program, SERI's Champions Program, ReThink Awards, and the International E-Waste Management Network (IEMN), among others. The expansion to a year-round format reflects the urgency of electronic waste challenges and the need for sustained action. With eSummit360, SERI aims to keep stakeholders engaged continuously, potentially leading to faster innovation and broader adoption of sustainable practices. The involvement of major companies as champions further legitimizes the effort and could inspire others to join. As the electronics industry faces increasing pressure to reduce environmental impact, initiatives like this are crucial for driving meaningful change. For more information about SERI, visit SERI.
