Licensed barber Seven Nelson has opened SevensCutAbove at the Salon and Spa Galleria Fort Worth Highway in Weatherford, Texas, as announced on June 8, 2026. A graduate of Weatherford College's Barber Program, Nelson spent two years in the industry before launching his own shop. Growing up as the child of a hairstylist, he learned the trade by watching his mother and has now turned his passion into a full-time career.
Nelson emphasizes a client-centered approach, stating, "I take my time with each client, to make certain that I execute the image they had in mind, along with providing laidback, chill vibes. It's important to me that every client leaves feeling confident again." SevensCutAbove specializes in sharp, detailed cuts including fades, low drops, tapers, as well as hot-lather shaves and beard shape-ups.
Notably, Nelson offers sensory-safe cuts designed for individuals with sensory issues due to special needs or haircut trauma. These adjustments include a soothing environment with softer lighting, quieter spaces, flexible pacing, and breaks if needed. If clippers cause distress, Nelson uses scissors. "As a sensory-safe barber, I've learned how to work with kids in the spectrum," Nelson said. "My goal is to create trust, not trauma."
