The Smiles for Life campaign, now in its 29th year, offers patients an opportunity to improve their smiles while supporting children's health charities. Since its inception in 1998, the campaign has raised over $51 million. From March 1 to June 30, 2026, patients can schedule teeth whitening treatments at participating Crown Council dentist offices, with the entire cost of the whitening materials donated by Ultradent Products, Inc., maker of Opalescence tooth whitening systems. The dentists donate their time and expertise, ensuring that 100% of the treatment fee goes to the Smiles for Life Foundation. Fifty percent of the proceeds support seriously ill, disabled, and underprivileged children globally, while the remaining half stays in each member dentist's local community to benefit a charity of their choice.
For those seeking straighter teeth, the campaign partners with Tréz clear aligners, with a portion of each treatment cost donated to the foundation. Greg Anderson, director of the Crown Council, emphasized the unique opportunity for patients to do good simply by having their teeth whitened or straightened. The campaign unites dentists, patients, and corporate sponsors to support local and global children's health initiatives.
Since its launch, Smiles for Life dentists have supported more than 600 local children's charities. The foundation also funds national and international oral health programs for economically disadvantaged children in countries such as the Dominican Republic, Nepal, Bolivia, and Guatemala. A longtime partnership with the Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Foundation supports Child Life Zones in children's hospitals across the United States.
