Sportradar's IMG ARENA Acquisition Closure Expands Content to Over 1 Million Matches Annually

Sportradar (NASDAQ: SRAD) has finalized its acquisition of IMG ARENA, a move that significantly expands its global sports betting rights portfolio. The deal, announced previously, adds strategic relationships with more than 70 rightsholders and delivers approximately 38,000 official data events and 29,000 streaming events across 14 global sports on six continents. This brings Sportradar's total annual matches to over one million, reinforcing its position as a leader in data-driven sports entertainment.

The acquisition bolsters Sportradar’s content in popular betting sports such as tennis, soccer, and basketball. Key properties now under its umbrella include Wimbledon, the U.S. Open, Roland-Garros, Major League Soccer, EuroLeague basketball, and the PGA Tour. Sportradar is already the trusted partner of organizations like the ATP, NBA, WNBA, NHL, MLB, UEFA, FIFA, CONMEBOL, AFC, and the Bundesliga. "This marks a significant milestone for Sportradar expanding our access to premium sports content that strengthens and complements our already robust global portfolio and capabilities," said CEO Carsten Koerl. "With this, we are uniquely positioned to deliver even more immersive, data-rich experiences to our clients, partners and fans around the world while accelerating innovation at scale across the global sports ecosystem."

Sportradar expects the acquisition to be accretive to adjusted EBITDA margins and free cash flow conversion. The deal structure involves approximately $122 million in cash prepayments by the seller to certain sports rights holders and about $103 million to Sportradar, with no financial consideration required from Sportradar. This enhances the company’s content distribution and fuels product development. Sportradar plans to monetize these rights across its highly scalable technology platform and client network.

Prior to the IMG ARENA acquisition, Sportradar had targeted revenue of at least €1.7 billion (approximately $2 billion) by 2027, representing a 15% CAGR. With the added content, the company expects to outpace the global sports betting market, which is forecast to hit $182.12 billion by 2030, growing at a CAGR of 10.3%. Sportradar also aims for margin expansion to 27% by 2027, a 700bps improvement. The company attributes its growth prospects to "industry-leading scale, unmatched competitive advantages and major sports rights secured for the long term," as well as potential further acquisitions in adjacent areas like the online casino market, which represents a $2 billion serviceable addressable market.

Sportradar's proprietary AI and next-generation technology deliver real-time data, insights, and immersive fan experiences across more than 120 countries. Leagues, sports books, and technology companies rely on its technology to enhance engagement and unlock revenue opportunities. With the IMG ARENA deal closed, Sportradar is well-positioned to transform fan engagement, interaction, and betting on favorite teams.
