Sprott Inc. (NYSE: SII) ended 2025 with record assets under management, driven by strong performance across precious metals, critical materials, and mining ETFs. Steven Schoffstall, Director of ETF Product Management, cited geopolitical and economic uncertainty as key drivers of investor interest. “A lot of times it's that geopolitical uncertainty, economic uncertainty,” Schoffstall said in an interview with Benzinga. “We’re seeing trade wars and threats of tariffs. All of that bodes well for precious metals traditionally.”
Looking ahead to 2026, Schoffstall highlighted silver as a standout metal due to its dual role as both a precious and industrial metal. Nearly 60% of silver demand comes from industrial applications, including artificial intelligence and semiconductors. “A lot of what we saw in 2025 is likely to carry through into 2026,” he noted, suggesting that precious metals will continue their upward trajectory.
The outlook comes amid ongoing trade tensions and economic policy uncertainties that traditionally boost demand for safe-haven assets. Sprott’s record AUM reflects growing investor appetite for exposure to precious metals and mining companies. The company offers a range of ETFs that provide access to these assets, catering to both retail and institutional investors.
