The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill, a leading Mediterranean fast-casual restaurant franchise, has announced the expansion of its partnership with GiftAMeal, a community engagement platform that converts guest photos into donations for local food banks. After piloting the program with 10 locations in July 2024, the chain now offers GiftAMeal in over 70 locations across the United States.
Since the partnership began, guests have helped provide more than 20,000 meals to families facing food insecurity by taking photos of their meals through the GiftAMeal platform. For each photo, GiftAMeal donates 1.2 pounds of groceries to a network of neighborhood pantries. “GiftAMeal allows our franchise operators to live our brand mission by translating local commitment into real community impact,” said Bob Andersen, President of The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill.
To mark Random Acts of Kindness Day on February 17, and throughout the month, the restaurant is inviting guests to participate. At the end of February, The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill will match the monetary value of the total number of meals donated, effectively doubling the contribution. Participation is simple: scan the GiftAMeal QR code in-store, take a photo of food or drink, and optionally share on social media to multiply the donation impact.
