Trailbreaker Resources Ltd. (TBK.V) has commenced drilling at the Swan Zone on its 100%-owned Atsutla Gold Project in northwestern British Columbia, following the completion of its maiden drill program at the Highlands Zone. The company announced the mobilization on July 27, 2026, marking a significant step in exploring a priority copper-gold-silver porphyry target.
The Swan Zone, located 26 kilometers from the Highlands Zone, is hosted in the Cretaceous Glundebery batholith, contrasting with the Jurassic Christmas Creek batholith that hosts the Highlands Zone. While the Highlands program targeted high-grade vein-hosted gold, silver, and copper, the Swan Zone drilling will focus on a porphyry-style mineralization defined by extensive geochemical and geophysical surveys. CEO Daithi Mac Gearailt stated that the Swan Zone has been developed from a new discovery over five years through systematic exploration, including detailed geological mapping, soil geochemistry, induced polarization (IP), and airborne magnetic surveys.
The drill program at the Swan Zone will test a 1.5 km by 1.5 km multi-element soil geochemical anomaly (Au-Cu-Ag-As-Mo-Sb-Bi) that coincides with a 2.1 km by 1.4 km donut-shaped chargeability high from a 2024 IP survey and a magnetic low signature indicating elevated potassium. Rock grab samples from the zone have graded up to 11.7 g/t gold, 212 g/t silver, and 0.81% copper. Despite limited historic drilling in the adjacent valley, the Swan Zone itself has never been drilled. The program will target an estimated strike length of 1,000 meters to a vertical depth exceeding 400 meters, aiming to improve understanding of mineralization controls and support future drill campaigns.
The completed Highlands Zone program consisted of four holes totaling 883.40 meters, testing a strike length of 500 meters and a vertical extent of 412 meters. In September 2026, Trailbreaker plans to drill several copper-gold porphyry targets at the Coho property, 30 kilometers northwest of the Mt. Milligan mine in central BC, as detailed in a May 25, 2026 news release.
The Atsutla Gold Project covers 300 km² and is centered over the regional Teslin-Thibert fault system. Since discovery in 2020, Trailbreaker has outlined five significant gold mineralization zones across 26 kilometers: the Highlands Zone, Christmas Creek Zone, Snook Zone, Willie Jack Zone, and the Swan Zone.
