TruGolf Acquires Polymath Research to Bridge Golf Tech and Institutional Asset Tokenization

TruGolf Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: TRUG) has completed its acquisition of Polymath Research Inc., a Canadian company that specializes in institutional asset tokenization and developed Polymesh, a Layer-1 blockchain designed for regulated assets. The transaction merges TruGolf's established golf simulation and software business with Polymath's blockchain infrastructure, creating two complementary revenue streams that could reshape how the company operates in both the sports technology and financial technology sectors.

As of Dec. 31, 2025, Polymath had issued more than $132 million in tokenized assets for over 65 active issuers, supported by more than 50 ecosystem partners. This track record demonstrates Polymath's ability to attract institutional clients and manage real-world asset tokenization at scale. For TruGolf, the acquisition provides immediate access to a proven blockchain platform and a client base that could drive recurring revenue. The companies are also developing tokenized equipment leasing and fractional franchise ownership programs targeted for the first quarter of 2027, signaling a long-term strategy to integrate blockchain into TruGolf's core golf business.

Following the acquisition, Polymath will operate as a wholly owned subsidiary while TruGolf continues its golf technology operations, including its simulators and E6 platform. Natalie Hirsch, formerly Polymath's chief financial officer and interim CEO, has been appointed chief financial officer and chief operating officer of TruGolf, while David Hackett has joined its board of directors. These leadership changes bring blockchain and financial expertise into TruGolf's executive team, which could help steer the company's expansion into tokenized assets. In connection with the transaction, TruGolf also received approximately $2.95 million in net proceeds from the exercise of Series B preferred warrants, strengthening its balance sheet.

The acquisition matters because it positions TruGolf at the intersection of two growing markets: indoor golf technology and institutional asset tokenization. By combining these businesses, TruGolf can potentially diversify its revenue and tap into the demand for regulated blockchain solutions. The tokenized equipment leasing and fractional franchise ownership programs, planned for 2027, could open new avenues for golf course operators and investors to participate in the sport's economy through fractional ownership and leasing models. If successful, these initiatives could serve as a blueprint for other industries looking to tokenize physical assets.
