UGI Utilities, Inc. announced a smaller-than-expected increase in the purchased gas cost rate, effective December 1, 2025. The average residential heating customer will see their total monthly bill rise from $118.43 to $119.49, a 0.9% increase. This adjustment reflects the pass-through of higher natural gas supply costs, which utilities are required by law to pass directly to customers without markup.
The company noted that while the increase is modest, it recognizes some customers may face difficulty paying their heating bills. UGI offers several assistance programs for eligible customers with limited or fixed incomes. Customers can visit UGI's customer assistance page or call 1-800-UGI-WARM to determine eligibility. Additionally, UGI helps customers apply for federally funded Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) grants, which open on December 3.
To help manage payments, UGI provides budget billing, online account management through its website and app, and an auto-pay program. The company also encourages energy efficiency improvements, with tips available at UGI's energy-saving tips page.
UGI Utilities serves more than 760,000 natural gas and electric customers. The company continues to monitor market conditions to minimize cost impacts on its customers.
