Vinhomes, Vietnam's leading real estate developer, is preparing to export its integrated mega-city model to five international markets, marking a significant shift in the country's global economic identity. Traditionally known for exporting agricultural products and apparel, Vietnam is now positioning itself as a provider of comprehensive urban development solutions. This move matters because it addresses a critical global challenge: rapid urbanization that often outpaces infrastructure, leading to a decline in quality of life.
The company's flagship project, Vinhomes Green Paradise in Can Gio, has become the first Official Participant in New7Wonders' "7 Wonders of Future Cities" campaign and has advanced to the global vote. This recognition underscores the project's excellence across three pillars: Environment & Nature, Smart City, and Human-Centric Development. The 2,870-hectare development reserves 84% of its land for greenery and water, including a natural seawater lagoon and 121 kilometers of shoreline, adjacent to the UNESCO-recognized Can Gio Mangrove Biosphere Reserve.
Vinhomes' integrated townships, typically larger than 300 hectares, are designed as self-contained economies. They deliver homes alongside commercial, educational, healthcare, transportation, and public infrastructure from the outset, rather than years later. This approach contrasts with many fast-growing cities where housing precedes essential services, resulting in long commutes and scattered amenities. By integrating everything from the start, Vinhomes creates communities where residents can live, work, and thrive without the typical urban drawbacks.
International data supports the value of this model. Zonda's Master Plan Outlook found that U.S. master-planned communities averaged 2.3 home sales per month in Q3 2025, compared to 2.1 for standalone communities, with the gap widening to 51% in the entry-level segment. Research by Cushman & Wakefield showed that median household incomes in master-planned communities were 38% higher than in surrounding areas, attracting premium retail and services. These statistics highlight the economic advantage of integrated developments.
Vinhomes' expansion into Congo, India, Australia, the Philippines, and Indonesia reflects its ambition to export a proven model. The company has already brought 32 projects into operation in Vietnam, serving hundreds of thousands of residents. Its ability to execute at scale and speed sets it apart. After visiting the Can Gio project, New7Wonders Director Jean-Paul de la Fuente remarked that few developers globally can build at such scale and pace while managing complexity.
Vinhomes Green Paradise exemplifies the human-centric design that makes the model exportable. Once the planned Ben Thanh–Can Gio rail line is complete, travel from downtown Ho Chi Minh City to the coast is expected to take about 13 minutes, bringing a coastal home within daily commuting range. The project offers amenities for all generations: children can enjoy paddleboarding, cycling, and the 122-hectare VinWonders with 280 attractions, while grandparents can relax in thermal mineral waters or participate in the Wisdom Academy. Such features create a community where people choose to live, work, and return to each day.
By addressing shared global urbanization challenges, Vinhomes is turning its city-building expertise into a new kind of "Made in Vietnam" export. For more information, visit https://vinhomes.vn/en.
