Jan Goetgeluk, CEO of Virtuix Inc. (NASDAQ: VTIX), recently appeared on Benzinga's All Access to discuss the company's recent IPO and its flagship product, the Omni One VR treadmill gaming system. Goetgeluk emphasized the system's role in driving triple-digit growth and its potential for expansion into new sectors.
Goetgeluk reported that Virtuix achieved 138% year-over-year growth, attributing this success to the Omni One's unique value proposition. The system allows players to physically move through virtual worlds, creating an immersive gaming experience while also promoting physical activity. According to Goetgeluk, one customer lost 40 pounds in four months using the system. This combination of entertainment and fitness has resonated with consumers, fueling demand.
With the recent IPO, Virtuix is well-capitalized to pursue further growth. In addition to IPO proceeds, the company secured an $11 million investment from Chicago Venture Partners and a $50 million equity line of credit. Goetgeluk stated that these funds will be used to scale operations and enter new markets, including the defense sector. The defense application of VR technology could involve training simulations, where physical movement enhances realism and effectiveness.
Virtuix's strategy reflects a broader trend of VR technology expanding beyond gaming into practical applications such as fitness and professional training. The company's focus on immersive, full-body interaction differentiates it from other VR systems that rely on handheld controllers or stationary setups. By securing substantial funding, Virtuix is positioning itself to capitalize on this growing market.
