Western Star Resources Reports 0.28% WO3 in Soil at White Star Tungsten Project, Defining Two New Drill Targets

Western Star Resources Inc. (CSE: WSR) (OTC: WSRIF) (FRA: 4K2) has announced results from the first-ever systematic soil sampling at its White Star Tungsten Project in Elko County, Nevada, defining two discrete tungsten-in-soil anomalies and elevating the prospectivity of the district. The survey, comprising 253 soil samples at White Star, completes a 568-sample program across both the Rowland and White Star properties. The highest value returned was 2,230 ppm tungsten (0.28% WO3) at sample B206, a result that underscores the potential for near-surface tungsten mineralization.

The two anomalies, termed the North Zone and South Zone, are significant because they represent new, untested targets. The North Zone, larger and better defined, spans approximately 215 by 240 meters and peaks at 156 ppm W. It is developed over the contact between Cretaceous quartz monzonite and tactite/calc-silicate hornfels, a favorable geological setting for tungsten skarn deposits. The South Zone, measuring 135 by 95 meters, peaks at 2,230 ppm W and lies on the same geological horizon that hosts the past-producing Mission Cross mine. Notably, the North Zone is in an area with no recorded historical activity, according to CEO and President Blake Morgan, who stated that the geochemistry points to tungsten-bearing rock sitting at or very near surface.

The implications of these findings are substantial for Western Star. Both Nevada properties now have defined soil anomalies and will be advanced together into drill target generation. This coordinated approach could accelerate exploration and potentially lead to a maiden drill program. The soil results also support the use of soil geochemistry as a vectoring tool, as elevated tungsten values were found in areas where the intrusive-carbonate contact is under cover. The company plans to infill the key target zones at 25-meter spacing, extend sampling to the east where the anomaly is open, and select drill pad locations to test the four anomalous zones at depth.

Investors can view the detailed soil results in Figure 1: Tungsten-in-soil results across the White Star Tungsten Project, which shows the anomalies over the geological mapping of Coats (1964, USGS Bulletin 1141-M). Additionally, Figure 2: Rowland-White Star District data compilation provides a comprehensive view of the 2026 exploration program, including magnetic inversion depth slices and rock chip results, highlighting four distinct targets. These visual aids are crucial for understanding the spatial relationship between soil anomalies, geophysics, and known mineralization.

The district-scale exploration effort has now defined four tungsten-in-soil anomalies across the two properties: Rowland Main and Northern Zone B at Rowland, and North and South Zones at White Star. This pipeline of targets positions Western Star as a emerging player in the critical minerals space, particularly tungsten, which is essential for industrial and defense applications. The company's strategic emphasis on past-producing tungsten assets in the United States aligns with broader efforts to secure domestic supply chains for critical minerals.

As Western Star moves forward with infill sampling and drill planning, the market will watch for further evidence that these soil anomalies translate into significant subsurface mineralization. The next phases of work, including additional soil sampling along the prospective horizon, will be closely monitored. With a clear exploration roadmap and multiple targets, Western Star Resources is poised to unlock value from its Nevada tungsten portfolio.
