The company added that ATF Ruling 2026-2, which classifies its BolaWrap 150 as an instrument of restraint rather than a firearm or weapon under federal law, could expand access to civilian and private security markets as it continues to broaden adoption of its training and non-lethal response technologies.
The move comes as Wrap Technologies continues to diversify its customer base beyond law enforcement. The company’s BolaWrap 150 device, a non-lethal restraint tool that deploys a Kevlar tether to temporarily restrain individuals, has been adopted by over 1,000 agencies across the U.S. and in 60 countries. According to the company, the device incorporates a multi-sensory distraction of sight and sound as a first response, followed by non-lethal restraint if further escalation is required, reducing the risk of injury to officers, subjects, and the community.
Wrap Reality is a fully immersive training simulator designed to enhance decision-making under stress. The platform provides first responders with realistic, interactive scenarios that reflect the evolving challenges of modern law enforcement. By offering a growing library of real-world situations, Wrap Reality is intended to equip officers with the skills and confidence to navigate high-stakes encounters effectively, leading to safer outcomes for both responders and the communities they serve.
