YCO Cloud and Aolani to Deploy One of the First NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 Clusters in the Philippines, Powered by Renewable Energy

The Philippines is set to gain one of its first NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 cluster deployments through a collaboration between YCO Cloud, Aolani, and NVIDIA. The project, announced via Media OutReach Newswire, is described as the country's first renewable-powered sovereign AI infrastructure. It is designed to meet global sustainability standards for water usage and rely on dedicated renewable energy sources. The initiative is significant because it provides the Philippines with purpose-built, sovereign AI infrastructure for the first time, which could accelerate the nation's digital capabilities and innovation.

Aolani will contribute AI infrastructure, GPU financing, deployment, and operating capabilities, while YCO Cloud will provide sustainable, scalable digital infrastructure and local expertise. The collaboration aims to create a scalable, world-class AI ecosystem that drives local innovation and national economic productivity. The first phase, scheduled for launch in the first quarter of 2027, will deploy more than 10,000 NVIDIA Blackwell Ultra GPUs. This computing capacity will be extended to local government bodies, domestic enterprises, and startups, while also attracting global AI-native companies. By democratizing access to advanced AI infrastructure, the project could help Filipinos become builders and developers of AI, not just users.

The NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 cluster is central to this effort, offering state-of-the-art performance for AI workloads. YCO Cloud's commitment to environmental stewardship means the infrastructure adheres to best practices for energy and water efficiency, aligning with global sustainability goals. The company partnered with Science Park of the Philippines Inc. (SPPI) to secure power, water, and connectivity infrastructure that supports these sustainability objectives. Nik de Ynchausti, CEO of YCO Cloud, noted that the Philippines is ready to scale digital infrastructure due to its submarine cable systems and growing renewable energy sources. He emphasized that the partnership with Aolani and SPPI complements YCO Cloud's mission to deliver green digital infrastructure.

Nicholas Chia, CEO at Aolani, added that as a leading neocloud in Asia, Aolani is committed to delivering high-performance, compliant AI infrastructure at speed and scale. He highlighted Southeast Asia's emerging role as a linchpin for global AI infrastructure and the Philippines as a dynamic new market. The collaboration, he said, will play a pivotal role in democratising access to advanced AI infrastructure, supporting the growth of the country's digital economy and AI ecosystem. The Philippine government has welcomed the partnership. Leandro Angelo Y. Aguirre, Undersecretary of the Department of Information and Communications Technology, said AI presents significant opportunities for innovation, job creation, and economic growth. He appreciated the commitment of both companies to enable Filipinos to become AI builders and developers. Rosemarie Edillon, Undersecretary of the Department of Economy, Planning, and Development, thanked YCO and Aolani for entrusting the Philippines with this significant role, noting that the government stands ready to partner in building a trusted, inclusive, and ethical AI ecosystem. The project not only positions the Philippines as a sovereign AI player but also sets a precedent for sustainable, renewable-powered digital infrastructure in the region.
